Abigail Reid
Hi! My name is Abigail Reid, and I am so excited to launch Headz Up Kids, Inc. It has always been my dream to help others gain access to education since I was a little girl going to school in Kingston. I was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, after I moved to New York to finish high school. I then earned my bachelor of arts in English and Philosophy at Hofstra University, and I am now a 2L at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City. Education has been a central point in my life; without it, I would not be where I am today. Many other children in my home town were more than qualified to go to college, but they did not have the support or the funds. I aim to help bring education to all students; that way, no one has to be left behind.
Mireya Calderon
I’m Mireya Calderon and I grew up in New York. After pre-kindergarten I moved to the Dominican Republic where I then studied till the 5th grade when after which my family decided to move back to New York. Overcoming the obstacle of a language barrier I graduated Hofstra University with my bachelors degree in Legal Studies in Business and minor in sociology. I am currently pursuing law school and looks forward on having a concentration in immigration law to help children who are seeking asylum from their home country.
